Part 4 of 5: “We’re all in this together”

@3OfCupsEvents: The Group Photo Shot List is created by the couple to include the names and relations of guests in groupings. It is important for both the Photographer and the Coordinator to be provided this list in advance. It is also important for the couple to communicate any discourse between relations. Group Photos can take between fifteen minutes and one hour to achieve, depending on the length of the list.

@JoshuaandParisa: Before the wedding day, we send a template to couples to outline their Group Photo List. On this form, the couple can make notes about relations that may require special attention. After receiving the list, we prepare the most efficient plan to execute on the day of the wedding.

@JoshuaandParisa: Group Photos can be stressful for couples and their guests. From our experience as Photographers & Videographers, we have assessed that wedding guests typically don’t care to take photos after the ceremony, because they would rather be socializing. The noise level during Cocktail Hour impedes guests’ ability to hear their name called, which contributes to delaying the timeline. As a solution, we encourage couples to inform their family members and friends of where and when Group Photos are scheduled to take place before the day of the wedding. It also helps tremendously when a designated member from either side of their families help gather groups for photos, because they are able to quickly identify the family members provided on the list. Having a solid plan in order helps save time and promotes happy smiling faces.

@3OfCupsEvents: As a Coordinator, I assist the Photographer(s) by wrangling and organizing groups to help Group Photos move as fast as possible. It is very helpful when the couple designates an informed family member to help identify folks included on the shot list for Group Photos. The faster Group Photos can be achieved, the sooner both the couple and their guests get to enjoy socializing during Cocktail Hour.
